FRISSON at SEAMLESS 2008: Computational Couture

January 31st, 2008 — ESKI presents FRISSON: a temperature changing necklace designed by Vincent Leclerc.

ESKI announces that Vincent Leclerc will present FRISSON at SEAMLESS 2008: Computational Couture, a fashion tech show held on January 30th in Boston, MA.

Engineered by ESKI, the FRISSON necklace is made of a series of individual beads resembling teardrops. Each bead is adorned with a temperature changing peltier junction controlled by a microcontroller embedded in the bead. The beads can decide to become cold, warm or hot on their own will. With such behaviour, the necklace produces animated temperature patterns around the wearer’s neck, creating and unsettling feeling apparent to shivers.

Held at the Boston Museum of Science; the SEAMLESS 2008: Computational Couture fashion show features cutting-edge style fused with the latest advances in technology.

ESKI Wins an Entrepreneurship Award

April 13th, 2007 — ESKI is awarded the 1st prize at the Concours Québecois en Entreprenariat (in the Technological Innovations category for the region of Montreal). With this recognition, ESKI now demonstrates that it combines entrepreneurial know-how to its creative approach and technological insight.

ESKI Wins an Award for the Development of REVOLVER.

January 25th, 2007 — ESKI wins an award from the Multimedia Experimentation Fund (a joint initiative between Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED) and the Alliance numériQC) to finance the development of its REVOLVER 3D display technology. REVOLVER is set to create new standards in display solutions with true 3D representation. This technology will be developed within the next 12 months.

ESKI at Interfaces Montreal 2006

October 31st, 2006 — Vincent Leclerc presented REVOLVER, a volumetric display technology at the Interfaces Montreal conference. Held at the Society for Arts and Technologies, Interfaces Montreal aims to communicate digital interface knowledge and expertise in order to stimulate collaboration among the many contributing researchers, entrepreneurs and artists.

REVOLVER at Wired NEXTFEST 2006

October 15th 2006 — Vincent Leclerc was invited by Wired magazine to present REVOLVER, a 3D display technology at NEXTFEST 2006. Presented as an invention that will influence the future of design and now being further developed by ESKI, we were truly eager to witness the public's reactions to these 3D shapes in motion...Their expressions speak for themselves!
