ESKI combined its LED expertise with wireless technologies to create a mesh-networked LED display that can be seamlessly integrated to existing point of sale equipment. It allows retailers to display simple information, such as promotions, prices and jackpot prizes with accuracy and less manipulation.
Each FlashTag being a transceiver, each unit can receive its own information and simultaneously retransmit this information to its neighbours (much like a domino effect). This novel feature allows for longer distances between the FlashHub and FlashTags, making this technology scaleable for different retail environments.
This scalable low cost technology is developed to be integrated in POP displays with the purpose of increasing the accuracy and the visual impact of the information displayed while reducing the logistic effort required by the retailer’s employees to update information displayed.

A patented technology, FlashTag is designed to be embedded in Point Of Purchase equipment. FlashTag units form a secure and encrypted mesh-networked display system with all devices communicating wirelessly with one another.
Information updates: FlashTags are updated through a FlashHub, which can be connected to existing equipment such as a POS, Digital Signage Player or to an internet router. It is also possible to integrate the FlashHub within a remote control to update the information locally.

For the last 3 years Loto-Québec (Québec’s provincial lottery company) has been looking to update their current point of sale display equipment found throughout their retail network. Their P.O.S. fixtures are used to display lottery jackpots while also housing their multiple lottery products.
The new P.O.S. equipment had to fulfill many requirements. First; it had to be truly unique, allowing it to stand out in a retail environment. It also had to guarantee ease of use and efficiency to Loto-Québec retailers while greatly increasing accuracy in the lottery jackpot displays. The new equipment also needed to be worry-free and stand up to many years of use.
ESKI therefore developed FlashTag, integrated within the new P.O.S. fixtures (designed by Artiatila for Loto-Québec). All displays now being wirelessly linked to one another, the information instantly updates itself on all other P.O.S. fixtures thus allowing great ease of use and less manipulation. Furthermore, the LED displays of FlashTag are designed to Loto-Québec’s specifications and allow the new merchandising displays to truly stand out in a retail environment.
Currently being implemented, the new Loto-Québec fixtures will gradually be available in hundreds of Loto-Québec point of sale locations in 2008.
