The permanent exhibit Where Montréal Was Born at the Pointe-à-Callière Museum of Archeology and History takes visitors to the heart of an archeological site: the birthplace of Montreal. Strolling through the archeological relics, artifacts and interactive installations, the visitor will be filled with wonder by the splendor of this environment, which is both so close at hand and but which also seems very distant.
For the revamping of this exhibition, the Bluesponge agency selected ESKI to handle the production of new interactive multimedia installations.
ESKI designed and installed the Montréal 1800-1850 interactive port mural. 15 meters long and two and a half meters high, the mural is based on an original concept that allows the viewer to see the changing face of Montreal’s Old Port from a new perspective, covering the years 1800 to 1850. Using archival images, videos, sound recordings and artifacts, the interactive mural offers a viewer experience that is second to none.
