For the 2012 Star Academie season opener, the french pop star Gregoire was invited to perform his hit “Toi+Moi”. ESKI was invited to light up the unique choreography performed by 40 dancers.
We took a simple white top hat and turned it into a bright and colourful pixel. The choreography was based on rotating concentric circles and we created dynamic patterns that matched the movements and the music. We used a custom variation of our PixMob technology to allow us to control pixels in predefined groupings. This allowed us to create radial chases on each concentric ring of dancers.
Following the success of the opening gala, we were invited to participate on a second show to accompany the Belgian artist Stromae. This time, we brought back our ever popular PixMob balls to throw in the crowd. The studio audience were surprised by the addition of this playful element, and the TV audience by the dynamic performance that unfolded in the Star Academie studio.
